Commercial & Investment Strategy to be extended by 12 months
Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Cabinet has approved a 12-month extension to the Commercial & Investment Strategy, to build on the successes to date.

Originally adopted in December 2020 the Commercial & Investment Strategy aimed to transform Caerphilly County Borough Council into a commercially thinking organisation and has seen good progress throughout the year. Accomplishments thus far include Destination Caerphilly, which has helped local venues work toward their business plan through strategies such a: helping to create a 5 year plan and providing commercial and marketing training.

Other accomplishments include Pilot Training Sessions which aims to deliver commercial skills training and awareness.

Despite the successes, some action points have seen delays due to the ongoing response to COVID and therefore cabinet members have voted for the Scheme to be extended by a further 12 months, for efforts to continue.

Councillor Eluned Stenner, Cabinet Member for Performance, Economy & Enterprise says: “A great deal of work has been undertaken in support of the Commercial & Investment Strategy despite the challenges brought by the response to COVID and thoughts are already turning to the next stage of the Strategy which will focus more on decision making framework and additional staff training”
