Success for first Winter Food and Craft Market

The first in the series of Winter Food and Crafts Markets proves successful with the highest footfall numbers since 2014.

Bargoed Town Centre was transformed into a Winter Wonderland this weekend, with approximately 20 food and craft stalls, a selection of children’s funfair rides along with a jam-packed programme of top-quality street theatre entertainment.

The event drew in over 5,500 visitors to Bargoed Town Centre – the highest recorded footfall since 2014 and the second highest on record.

Cllr. Eluned Stenner, Cabinet Member for Performance, Economy and Enterprise said, “With Christmas now only weeks away, the Winter Food and Craft Market is the perfect opportunity for shoppers to pick up unique gifts whilst supporting their local high street.”

This was the first of four Markets taking place throughout the Borough. The remaining Markets include:

  • Saturday 27th November - Bedwlwyn Road and Oakfield Street, Ystrad Mynach
  • Saturday 4th December - Cardiff Road, Twyn Road, Castle and Twyn Car Park, Caerphilly
  • Saturday 11th December - High Street, Blackwood
