Cabinet Member Cllr. Nigel George with pupils from Gyngaer Primary
To celebrate National Recycling week, Caerphilly Council is stepping up its programme of recycling in schools by providing brand new recycling facilities in classrooms and canteen areas across the County Borough.
The initiative forms part of a resource efficiency project funded by Welsh Government to deliver further gains in sustainable waste management.
Cabinet member Councillor Nigel George said “As part of our endeavours to protect our future generations, Caerphilly County Borough is continuing to improve the recycling offer in our places of learning and in turn further promote the principles of living better and using less”
To coincide with National Recycling week (September 20th and 26th of September, 2021) Schools across the County Borough Caerphilly are being provided with recycling facilities to help reduce waste and recycle more and thereby support the Team Wales ambition to become number 1 nation for recycling.
