Road and highway licences

As the Local Highway Authority we are responsible for managing licensing for all public roads, footways and footpaths in the city. 

• Licence to place objects on the highway

  To place tables, chairs or temporary furniture on the pavement you require a licence.

  Scaffolding and hoarding

  Any scaffolding or hoarding obstructs the highway requires licence.

  Skip permit

  If builders' skips need to be placed on the highway, road, pavement or verge, a permit is required.

• Street trading consent

  To trade on the street you will need consent.
