Overview
|
The 21st Century Schools and Colleges programme is a major, long-term, strategic capital investment programme. It is jointly funded by the Welsh Government and local authorities and aims to create a generation of 21st century schools in Wales.
As part of this programme Caerphilly County Borough Council intends to make a planning application for the construction of a new 420 place Welsh Medium Primary School on part of the site of the former Cwmcarn High School, Chapel Farm, Cwmcarn, Newport NP11 7NG. The project will also include 60 nursery places, 48 Childcare places and 16 SRB places together with external play areas, extensive landscaping and new and existing bus and car parking areas.
The requirement to undertake pre-consultation applies to all planning applications for ‘major’ development (full or outline as defined in article 2 of the Town and County Planning Development Management Procedure (Wales) Order 2012). The consultation process represents an opportunity for people to learn about the proposal and make comments that will be recorded and summarised in a consultation report.
