The Pavilions | Cherry Tree House
A mixed development portfolio by Caerphilly County Borough
Council has recently been completed, ranging from industrial
units to a high specification innovation
centre. It will progress the development
of Oakdale Business Park, building
on the success of phases 1 and 2.
The portfolio sets out
the next stage of a series of phased
developments to create a total of
150,000 sq. ft. of quality business
premises at three strategic locations
within the 170-acre site, and will provide
a range of accommodation focussing
on the needs of businesses located
in or intending to move into the
area. They are expected to provide
the stimulus and catalyst for private
sector investment for the next ten
years.
Caerphilly County Borough Council has accessed £9.4 million funding for this Oakdale Strategic Development Portfolio. The funding comprises the European Union's Objective 1 grant of £3.5 million which is matched by the Welsh Assembly Government's Local Regeneration Fund of £5.9 million.
This forms part of the Council's
ongoing capital building programme,
which acknowledges the need for
a range of premises to suit a variety
of purposes and occupiers. The southern
gateway office park provides
additional office accommodation
at Oakdale, within easy reach of
the economically progressive town
centre at Blackwood, via Sirhowy
Enterprise Way and Chartist Bridge. The office pavilions are located within five
minutes of the town centre. Pavilion 1 & 3 are already under offer.
Future proposals for the site include a business centre, 3 further office pavilions and a low carbon building.
