The Summer of Reading Together

Caerphilly Library Service has a reading challenge for adults this summer! The Reading Ahead scheme gives parents and carers a chance to support their children while they take part in their own Summer Reading Challenge: Space Chase.   Parents and carers can read anything they like, for example newspapers, magazines, websites, poems, plays and books.  You can even read the same book as your child at bedtime reading.  As an added incentive, for all adults who complete the challenge there will be a prize draw with a chance of winning a £20 Book Token.

So why not involve the whole family in reading for fun and enjoyment this summer?  This scheme is being run from Saturday 13th July until Saturday 7th September in Blackwood Library, New Tredegar Library and Oakdale Library.  For more details please contact the library directly.

Cllr Philippa Marsden, Cabinet Member for Education and Achievement said “I am delighted that the Summer Reading Challenge has returned this year. Reading is a great way to improve your mental stimulation and I hope to see the event be as successful as previous years.”
