Make a Noise in Libraries

Each year; RNIB, Share the Vision and the Chartered Institute of Librarians (CILIP) celebrate ‘Make a Noise in Libraries’. The fortnight-long celebration from Monday 3rd June to Sunday 16th June, encourages accessibility and inclusivity for all blind and partially sighted people in local libraries.

This campaign is aimed at raising awareness of what libraries have to offer visually impaired and blind customers and celebrates the significant amount of change that has developed over the past 12 months in public library services and third sector charity organisations.

This year’s theme is ‘Get Connected’ and Caerphilly Library Service has been highlighting how we can support these user groups by promoting the materials available. From Large Print and Audio books to Digital Accessibility software and hardware like screenreaders, large key keyboards etc; the service has something for everyone.

Also, the Library service now offers WiFi printing service at 6 of our library sites – Bargoed, Blackwood, Caerphilly, Rhymney, Risca and Ystrad Mynach.

Customers can print to the library MFPs, anytime, anywhere from their own Android or iOS device and then collect and pay when they visit the library.

Details of how to register for the service can be found here:
