Welcome back to the library: All Caerphilly libraries reopen for Order and Collect
From Tuesday 6th April, all libraries in the borough will resume delivering the ‘Order and Collect’ service to our residents. Applications for this service are now being accepted. All information on the Order and Collect scheme can be found by opening the following link or by contacting your local library:
https://www.caerffili.gov.uk/Services/Libraries/Order-and-collect?lang=en-GB

From Tuesday 4th May, our sites at Bargoed, Blackwood, Caerphilly, Newbridge, Rhymney, Risca and Ystrad Mynach will welcome the return of residents who wish to make use of the public computer facilities including photocopying, printing and Wi-Fi services.

We know many of you have missed visiting our community spaces. However, customer and staff safety remains our top priority, therefore a number of measures are now in place to ensure your visit to your library is a comfortable and safe experience.

Returning to your local library will mean we all have to do things a little differently to help protect each other. Please be reassured that our team will be on hand to support you.

What will we ask from you?

Your experience at the library will be different to what you’re used to and our libraries will be limiting the number of computer users at each site. Your safety remains important to us therefore we ask:
  • Please do not visit the library if you are unwell or showing symptoms of Coronavirus.
  • We request all visitors use a face covering or plastic visor whilst at the library.
  • Adhere to the social distancing and the health and safety guidance we have in place.
  • Please do not disrespect staff – they are there to help you.
  • Please make use of the hand sanitiser stations at the library. We request you sanitise your hands on arrival and on leaving the library.
  • CCBC are part of the NHS Track Trace and Protect service and you will be asked on entry to scan the NHS QR code or complete a Contact Form.
  • All children under 8 years of age will need to be accompanied by an adult or guardian.

How do I pre-book a PC?

Our libraries will offer a limited number of 45 minute appointments each day. To make an appointment, simply email or telephone the library directly:

At the library

Always bring your library membership card and PIN number with you as you will be using the self-login system.

Staff will only be able to provide limited assistance from a safe 2 metre distance.

Appointments are restricted to 45 minutes in order to maintain strict cleaning procedures. We kindly request you do not remove the keyboard covers whilst using the computer.

Your 45 minute session will automatically cease after this time. If you are using a storage device we suggest you regularly save your work.

Printing services

Printing services will be available to residents. Please ensure you bring the correct money with you in order to use this service.

Photocopying service

We will be providing a self-service photocopying facility. Full bi-lingual instructions are available. Appointments can be made to photocopy items and drop-in appointments may be available. Please ensure you bring the correct money with you in order to use this service.

Using the library Wi-Fi

If you would like to use your own computer device you are still required to make an appointment. We request you use your device at designated areas around the library.
