Operation Santa Appeal 2019

Caerphilly County Borough Council’s annual Operation Santa Appeal Launches today!

There are 700 children across the borough who are at risk of not receiving a gift this Christmas and Operation Santa aims to provide presents to those nominated by their social workers.

Our pledge line is now open until Friday 29 November and provides a quick and easy way for generous groups and individuals to pledge a gift for a child this Christmas simply by emailing or calling 01443 866577.

The unwrapped gifts need to be taken to a collection centre by the 2nd of December.

The collection centres are as follows:

  • Apex Estate Agents, Bargoed
  • YMCA, Bargoed
  • Bargoed Library
  • Caerphilly Library
  • Barclays Bank, Ystrad Mynach
  • Penallta House, Ystrad Mynach
  • Risca Family Centre, Brookland Road, Risca
  • Risca Palace Library
  • Pontlottyn Customer First Centre
  • Blackwood Miners’ Institute, Blackwood
  • Cwrt Rawlin Primary School

(Please check with your local supermarket to see if they are taking part in this appeal).

Cllr Carl Cuss, Cabinet Member for Social Care and Wellbeing said “The amount of donations we receive each year never ceases to amaze me. This is such a worthy cause and can only be achieved through the generous donations from businesses and residents of the borough.

“On behalf of Caerphilly County Borough Council, I would like to thank all of those who have participated in the appeal previously for your donations and continuous support and I can only hope that Operation Santa 2019 is just as successful as previous years.”
